Gratitudes

Well, I haven’t been on here for a few weeks, not because I don’t care but because I do!!!  I don’t want to leave you with inconsequentials or silliness or any kind of negativity…so I thought and thought about what you might like to hear! My response was…hmmm, I have no idea:))) So, I am back to what I love! I have had Happiness Tuesdays, Thankful Thursdays, and Super Saturdays in the past, and I did love sharing with you things that make me happy. I am still going to share those kinds of things with you but without the label…I am trying not to categorize myself too much!!

The main object causing me infinite happiness these days is the adorable granddaughter…3 months old and a delight! How perfect is it to be able to watch your son’s little girl 2 days a week… I’ll tell you: Perfectly perfect!!

And many more perfectly perfect photos of the little one:

This little sweetie will be keeping me happy for years to come!!!

And here is my cat, thinking he is much smaller than he actually is, sleeping in a shoe box!!

Finally, my philosophy, in a nutshell:

Loving life because life is good!!!

Super Saturday #37

Hurray for Super Saturday #37…

Beautiful things, exciting things, inspiring ones…I’ll share with you those things that bring me joy and make me happy!

Here are three things that make me happy:

1) being able to at least try to help teachers in a priority (or failing) school in a district south of here…hard work, many ideas…mostly sharing positive energy! They are overwhelmed and under appreciated … a pretty toxic combination!  Any ideas out there??? Please share:)

2) another photo of the ‘cute’ couple: my mom, almost 94, is looking pretty amazing isn’t she???

and Carl is in such a happy frame of mind …. lovin’ it:))

3) how about another quote to start your day…

“Wherever you go, no matter what the weather, always bring your own sunshine!”

What a great, inspiring quote…you can choose that sunshine for your day, instead of a stormy frame of mind! Give it a try:)

2) “We tend to forget that happiness doesn’t come as a result of getting something we don’t have, but rather of recognizing and appreciating what we do have.”   Frederick Keonig

3) going out to eat with my buddies – whether on a Danube trip or a trip to a favorite restaurant in town – it’s always fun!! …anyone else want to join our fun??

I hope your day is sunny and bright :)

Hurray for Super Saturday #35…

Beautiful things, exciting things, inspiring ones…I’ll share with you those things that bring me joy and make me happy!

Here are three things that make me happy:

1) a first birthday for a little cutie-patootie

2) celebrating my birthday with my favorites:))

with these two lovelies...

and these two lovelies...

3) another quote from my bag of tricks:

“Tell the negative committee that meets in your head to sit down and shut up!”

It’s so easy to listen to that committee instead of setting up your own positive committee. Try, try, try…… :)

Don’t Miss the Moment…

Being ‘ in the moment ‘ is such an important part of bringing joy and happiness to your family. A look, a nod, a smile, a hug….each makes all the difference in the world to all the people in a family, but especially to the little ones! These small gestures are not forgotten along the way.

Here is a beautiful quote by Rachel Macy Stafford:

“I’ve decided I don’t want my children to grow up without the loving hellos. I vow to let go of my distractions long enough to cause a ‘Sun Delay,’ meaning:

No matter what I am in the middle of doing,

No matter how inconvenient it is to look up,

No matter how ‘busy’ I think I am,

When my children walk in the room,

When my children hop in the car,

When my children and I are reunited after a separation,

The world is going to stop for a moment,

And when it does,

I will shine my love into their eyes and into their hearts

So my children see and feel how much I love them.”

© Rachel Macy Stafford 2013

In the rush of our busy lives and the abundance of distraction, sometimes the loving hellos and goodbyes get lost. Let us remember their importance today. Our loved ones’ joyful faces have the power to remind us how much these gestures matter.

Some beautiful moments to remember:

All of these moments with your children are precious…see them, love them, smile at them…wonderful:)))

Summer Fun??

Now that the kiddies are home for the summer….have some fun with them!! And use those teachable moments along the way…

A quote from Billy Graham makes perfect sense to me:

“A child who is allowed to be disrespectful to his parents will not have true respect for anyone.”

Here is a link to some fun summer ideas…  fun!

summer…whether you go away, stay at home, spend money or spend none…find the littlest things that will make you happy!! Remember to take photos because the memories become the best part of summer:))

Peaceful

A beautiful quote:

“If we are peaceful, if we are happy, we can smile and blossom like a flower. Then everyone in our family…in our entire society… will benefit from our peace.”  Thich Nhat Hanh

blossom like a flower…

almost blossoming...

'volunteer' columbine taking over beautifully...

Are we whole-heartedly blossoming in peace and happiness or just in the bud stage? Do what you can to bring joy into your family and society:))
